Temple Grandin: successful autistic woman - 

- autistic mind picks out little letters and the fine details
- hands on classes help for people with disabilities succeed
- think in pictures - how do people think - like a google image search - only see specific pictures
- visual thinking - huge asset to work with - NOT ALL AUTISTIC CHILDREN THINK VISUALLY!
-- animals think in pictures and are visual detailed thinkers
- good at one thing and bad at the other - bad at math, good in the arts
- pattern thinkers - math thinkers
- verbal mind - know everything about everything
- put all the pieces together to figure out the story
- use things that kids like (with autism) in order to teach them things that do not understand... like legos and nascar to teach math and science
- need specificity for them
